Scotland
Scotland's mission field is urgent and clarifying: national census data shows the share of Scots identifying as Christian has fallen by roughly half since 2001, with young adults now majority non-religious in many areas.
Our vision is to deepen our partnership with AoG GB, and Scotland's leadership, building a stronger and more unified working relationship — and to channel that partnership primarily toward supporting and planting new churches across the country.
We see a clear pathway for workers at every experience level: seasoned church planters can move directly toward launching new works in identified priority locations, while less-experienced workers can first serve alongside an existing Scottish church to build ministry experience, relationships, and cultural fluency — with the goal of eventually helping plant a new church themselves.

We currently have 12 workers (8 units) serving across Scotland, engaged in church planting in Edinburgh, an early-stage church plant in the Highlands, sports chaplaincy in Glasgow, and community outreach in Glasgow.

Receiving capacity
Our national partner, AoG GB, has described Scotland as very open to receiving workers, and we work closely with Scottish leadership to determine strategic placement of future workers.
Edinburgh remains a potential hub for future ministry teams, with opportunities also available in other cities and communities, especially Aberdeen.
Based on current conversations with our partners, we estimate we could receive 6+ additional workers in the near term and connect them directly with local churches.

There are approximately 48 churches currently active in Scotland, part of a wider AoG GB movement of 712 churches across England, Scotland, and Wales combined.
Target # of Churches by 2033
AoG GB's overall goal is reach a total of 2000 churches across the movement by 2033. A Scotland-specific breakdown of that target is still pending; the current and target figures above are best estimates.

Current projects & amount needed to fund
Establishing an AoG GB church in the Highlands is in its early stages. We are actively seeking additional workers, and the current project has a funding goal of $100,000 to support this launch.
