Liechtenstein may be one of Europe's smallest nations, but it shares many of the same spiritual challenges found across Central Europe. Challenges for the Gospel The barriers are often cultural rather than hostile. It’s a different kind of hard. Faith is viewed as a private matter. Most people assume that being "Christian" simply means belonging to the Catholic Church, which has a firm grip on local government and business as well. The country's prosperity and high standard of living contribute to spiritual self-sufficiency, reducing openness to the Gospel. Because the nation is so small, the handful of believers feel isolated and have limited opportunities for growth and leadership development.
